Holiday Customs - Traditional or Original?

What customs do you, your family, or friends and neighbors observe during the holidays?  Are they traditional customs or has your family started some original traditions of their own?  Do you look forward to the events or do you dread them?  Describe one such holiday tradition and your feelings about it.  If you comment on others' responses, be respectful of their feelings.

Every year on Christmas it's custom for the kid in the house to open a present before Christmas night.

My family goes to a relative's house for Christmas. At Easter my grandma gives us treats. On the 4th of July I go to my cousin's house and watch the fireworks.

On Christmas when we open presents I get to pass the presents out because I'm the first one up all the time.My family made this up because I'm always the first one up.This makes me fell happy!

Every year we get up at Christmas and go right away down stairs and open the presents. But on Easter we have to wait up stairs until mom and dad go down stairs first. Than we can once that godown stairs.
